Saying Goodbye to the Bike

As I follow David into the city to drop off the motorbike to be packed for South America I think to myself “WOW, this is really happening”. I am feeling a bunch of mixed emotions; excited because it is the trip of a lifetime and I can’t wait to experience all that awaits us in South America plus it has been something we have been planning for many years, sad to say goodbye to the bike and thoughts that I hope it is well looked after and quite nervous and scared as the unknown and any change for me can be unsettling and a massive challenge. But this for me is what it is all about, getting out of my comfort zone and trying new and extremely exciting challenges. I mean, if we don’t push ourselves into unfamiliar waters how will we see and experience awesome places, try different foods and meet all kinds of people. That’s what I think anyway…

So we finally arrive at Southbank BMW Motorcycles in Melbourne to drop off the bike (Melbourne traffic can be horrendous at times…) to be packed up and ready for our departure and I have to say that we both left the place feeling rather underwhelmed.  We were on such a high when we arrived, I mean for us this is a pretty big milestone and the guy at BMW we were dealing with was rather sad and blue and he zapped all our excitement right out of us. Hahaha. Lucky for him and for us the two celebration glasses of wine we had afterwards put us back in the happy spirited moods were in previously. 😉
